Oil & Gas

• A major Oil Operating Company expressed its continuing confidence in Saltire by appointing it to provide ongoing claims management strategy advice, on a multi-million $USD FPSO project for the North Sea.

• An independent, Asia-based Oil Co retained Saltire to provide contractual & claims avoidance advice on a large FPSO project over a 3-year period.

• Drilling Rigs Construction: Saltire was appointed to provide claims support work including Planning Expert Witness opinion and testimony to an Arbitration tribunal.

• A major, US-based Oil & Gas Operator engaged Saltire to provide a review of its contractual position on a series of contractual claims & disputes on a Refinery project in Northern Europe.

• Following several similar appointments since 2004, the Real Estate division of a major, US-based Oil & Gas Company engaged Saltire to provide a review of its contractual position on a Contractor’s delay claims on multiple Commercial Building projects in Asia.

• A large Oil & Gas Operator appointed Saltire to provide contractual & ongoing claims management strategy advice on several disputes on a multi-million $USD Oil Platform Decommissioning project for the North Sea. The Client‘s requirements included gathering, assessing and presenting evidence, drafting pleadings and supporting the Client‘s external legal counsel in connection with prospective English High Court proceedings

• Following a similar, recent appointment, a major Oil Operating Company (a client since 2011) has expressed its continuing confidence in Saltire by appointing it to provide claims review and defence work, together with claims management strategy advice, on a multi-million $USD claim on a large FPSO project for the North Sea.

• Acting for an independent O&G Operator in respect of claims and counter-claims (totalling $115m) in the English High Court arising out of a Floating Production Vessel project. The Client\‘s brief involved gathering, assessing and presenting evidence, drafting pleadings and supporting the Client\‘s external legal counsel.

• Acting for a major international O&G Operator in respect of its claims against a manufacturer of Subsea Equipment (totalling $289m) in the Norwegian Courts. Brief involved gathering, assessing and presenting evidence and supporting the Client\‘s external legal counsel.

• Advising an independent O&G Operator in a series of contractual disputes (totalling $125m) with a Contractor in respect of a Floating Production Facility. Appointment included interpretation of a suite of seven, complex inter-connected contracts, advising on contractual position and making recommendations at Board level.

• Advising a major international Oil & Gas Operator in $15m contractual dispute relating to the replacement of a Distributed Control System on a N.Sea Platform. Appointment included advising on contractual position and gathering and assessing evidence.

• Acting for a large international O&G Co. advising on a range of dispute avoidance interventions and measures throughout the life of a high-value Subsea Construction Project.

• Advising a major international Oil co. in respect of delay claims on a NGL Refinery project in Qatar. The brief included the assessment of entitlement to an extension of time, advising on the client’s contractual position and the drafting of a Contract Amendment covering a Schedule Incentive Scheme.

• Acting as a Mediator on the invitation of an international Oil Co. in respect of a dispute between the Main Contractor and its Pipelay Subcontractor in Russia.

• Acting for an Independent O&G Co. advising on a range of dispute avoidance interventions and measures throughout the life of an Oil Platform EPC project.

• Acting for a major international Oil Company in respect of its contractual claims (totalling $30m) against a Subsea Equipment manufacturer. Brief included gathering, assessing and presenting evidence, drafting and presenting formal claim documents and supporting the Client during negotiated settlement discussions.

• Acting for the Real Estate Company of a major global Oil Co. in respect of a variety of contractual disputes on Construction Projects in Russia and Africa.

• Advising a Subsea Construction Contractor in respect of several contractual disputes on projects in the N.Sea.

• Advising a Drilling Rig owner in respect of its contractual position in connection with disputes arising from the construction of 3 Drilling Rigs in the UAE.

• Advising an international O&G Company in respect of contractual disputes with a Fabrication Contractor arising from a major Topsides Fabrication project for the N.Sea.

• Advising a major provider of Floating Production & Mooring Systems on a wide range of contractual issues over a period of 4 years.

Power Generation

• A multi-million €uro claim on a large Biomass Power Plant in Europe: Following multiple, similar appointments, a Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to provide claims review and defence work, claims management strategy advice and to support the Client‘s external legal counsel in connection with Arbitration proceedings.

• A Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to develop schedule delay claims, provide claims management strategy advice and to support the Client‘s local legal counsel in connection with a Biomass PowerGen Project in Europe.

• Since 2010, on 10+ different PowerGen Projects (both Biomass and Fossil Fuel) across Europe, Saltire has provided its long-standing Client (a Tier 1 contracting company) with a wide variety of advice and support on contractual claims & disputes. Terms of refence have ranged from short-term advice to evidence assessment, drafting pleadings, claims management strategy advice and supporting local legal counsel in protracted Arbitration proceedings.

• A Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to provide claims review and defence work, together with claims management strategy advice on a Geothermal PowerGen project in Asia. The Client‘s requirements included gathering, assessing and presenting evidence, drafting pleadings and supporting the Client‘s legal counsel in English High Court proceedings.

• A Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to provide claims review and defence work, together with claims management strategy advice on a PowerGen project in N Africa.

• Advising a major international PowerGen Contractor on a variety of contractual disputes in the UK.

• Advising a Danish Wind Energy Contractor on a schedule delay claim.

• Advising a major Finnish PowerGen Contractor on a variety of dispute avoidance measures on a Renewables Power Plant project.

• Advising the US division of a major international PowerGen Contractor on a variety of dispute avoidance measures on 2 high-value Power Plant projects.

• Acting for a major Finish PowerGen Contractor in respect of its contractual claims against its client. Brief included gathering, assessing and presenting evidence, drafting and presenting formal claim documents and providing support during negotiated settlement discussions.

Pulp & Paper

• Following a similar, recent appointment, a major Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to provide: contractual advice, claims review, development & defence work, claims management strategy advice and to support the Client‘s local legal counsel in connection with the resolution of high-value claims & counterclaims in an Arbitration in Europe.

• Major Pulp Plant Project, Europe: A Tier 1 contracting company appointed Saltire to provide: contractual advice, claims review, development & defence work, claims management strategy advice and to support the Client‘s local legal counsel in connection with the resolution of high-value claims & counterclaims over a period of several years.

• A large EPC Contractor appointed Saltire to provide ad hoc contractual and claims advice on two multi-million $USD Pulp Plant projects; one in Brazil, the other in Chile.

• On behalf of its Client, and working with its local legal counsel, Saltire firstly developed contractual claims and thereafter provided witness box testimony in an ICC Arbitration in respect of a Pulp Plant project in Chile.
